Cooley Leads Razorbacks Against Missouri
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Alecia Cooley led the way with 10 points and eight rebounds in Southeastern Conference action against Missouri in Bud Walton Arena on Monday. The Razorbacks fell to the Tigers 60-46.
All 10 players scored in the contest for the Razorbacks (13-7, 2-5 SEC), led by Cooley. Junior Devin Cosper added seven points and Jailyn Mason and Kiara Williams had six points each.
Arkansas fell behind in the first quarter but battled back playing the Tigers even in the final three frames but the first 10 minutes was the difference in the game. Arkansas was one point shy of matching Missouri 39-38 in the final three quarters. The Razorbacks’ best stanza was the final one with a 16-point effort in the last 10 minutes of the game.
The Razorbacks pulled to within 11 early in the third quarter, before the Tigers answered right back with back-to-back 3-pointers to lead 39-22 with 8:10 remaining in the period. The 11-point deficit was as close as Arkansas would get the rest of the way.

Senior Alecia Cooley is one of six Arkansas players to score in double figures in the first half of a game. Cooley had 10 points in the first 20 minutes for the second time this season. Jessica Jackson, Malica Monk, Keiryn Swenson, Jailyn Mason and Devin Cosper have also been in double digits in the first half.

Arkansas made just one of its first 10 shots, as Missouri scored the game’s first eight points and opened on a 15-3 run over the first 8:20 of the contest. Missouri held Arkansas scoreless for the first 2:41 of the game and also held Arkansas to a season-low eight first-quarter points on the way to a 21-8 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
Key Play:
Arkansas scored the final four points of the first half and the first basket of the second half to pull within 33-22 with 9:13 left in the third quarter. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Missouri stopped the Arkansas run.
Notable
• Alecia Cooley scored in double figures in the first half for the second time this season, finishing with 10 first-half points. She became the fifth different Razorback to have two or more games (and the sixth overall) with double-figure scoring in the first half of a contest this season.
• Arkansas forced 17 turnovers and grabbed eight steals in the game.
• Alecia Cooley added eight rebounds and was just two boards shy of a double-double.
