Cothern and Martinez Shine in Day 3 Finals

AUBURN, Ala. – Following strong performances in Thursday’s prelims, the Razorbacks capped off the night with a Bella Cothern 4th-place finish in the B-Final of the 100 Fly and a spectacular Malea Martinez 7th-place finish in the A-Final of 1-meter diving.

In prelims, Bella Cothern, Maddy Hartley, and Betsy Wizard all posted NCAA B-Cut times in the 100 Fly with Cothern securing a spot in the B-Final with a time of 52.52 which is a lifetime-best for the senior Jonesboro, Arkansas native. Cothern followed up her morning prelim time with a time of 52.81 in the finals. Coach Neil Harper reflected on the team’s successes and numerous personal bests the athletes swam: “we had lots of personal bests in the prelims this morning and we need to continue that for some important events tomorrow morning.”
