Dietz Adds All-America Accolade from D1Baseball
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas starting pitcher Hunter Dietz has been named an All-American by D1Baseball.
D1Baseball’s editors and national writers determine the All-America teams based on 2026 performance, taking into consideration statistical production, league context, defensive value and postseason impact.
It marks the Razorback left-hander’s fourth All-America accolade of the postseason, collecting second-team praise from the publication. Dietz was also named an All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings (third team), Baseball America (third team) and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (third team).
Dietz blossomed into Arkansas’ ace and one of the top pitchers in college baseball after injury-plagued seasons as a true freshman and redshirt freshman in 2024 and 2025, respectively. The left-hander, who finished as a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy, completed the campaign with a 7-4 record, 3.57 ERA and a team-leading 131 strikeouts, including an SEC-best 47 strikeouts looking, in 85.2 innings over 16 starts on the mound for the Hogs.
The Trinity, Florida, native, who earned All-SEC honors from the league’s 16 head coaches, turned in an SEC-leading nine quality starts on the year and was the first SEC pitcher to eclipse the 100-strikeout mark for the season. With his 131 strikeouts, Dietz finished his breakout year fourth on the program’s single-season top 10 list for strikeouts by a pitcher.
Dietz is one of four Razorbacks, including catcher Ryder Helfrick, shortstop Camden Kozeal and reliever Ethan McElvain, to garner All-America accolades this postseason. Helfrick earned All-America honors from Baseball America (third team), and Kozeal picked up praise from NCBWA (third team) and Perfect Game (third team) while McElvain landed recognition from ABCA/Rawlings (second team), College Baseball Foundation (honorable mention) and NCBWA (second team).
