Doubles Teams Begin Play Monday

TULSA, Okla. – Pre-qualifying play concluded Sunday at the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Adam Sanjurjo falling in the Round of 64 to Artem Kapsuk of Temple 2-6, 7-6(2), 6-4. The four other Razorbacks competing Sunday — Jacob Herndon, Branch Terrell, Juan Marino and Austin Robles — lost their respective Round of 128 singles consolation matches.

“It was a tough day for us,” head coach Andy Jackson said. “We look forward to having better days as the tournament progresses this week.”

Arkansas will not have anyone competing in qualifying singles, but both Mike Redlicki, the No. 11 player in the nation, and Jose Salazar, ranked No. 45 in the nation, will begin play in the main draw Thursday. The Razorbacks will, however, have two doubles teams competing in qualifying doubles, which begins Monday.

Johan den Toom and Jose Salazar will face the Fresno State team of Mantas Bugailiskis and Euan McIntosh, the No. 8 seed in the draw and the No. 37 team in the nation. Redlicki and Sanjurjo, the No. 5 seed in the draw and the No. 32 team in the nation, will face the South Florida team of Alberto Barroso-Campos and Justin Roberts.

The tournament will have live scoring available beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and live streaming will also be available for pre-qualifying and qualifying round matches and main draw matches.

Results will be posted at the conclusion of each day throughout the tournament.
