Former Razorback Great Nathan Price Inducted into USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – 2004 All-SEC second teamer and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete Nathan Price has been inducted into the USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame in the class of 2025.
Announced by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Saturday, Price became the 149th member of the USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame due to his contributions to college and professional tennis history.
Arguably one of the most accomplished players in the history of the program, Price starred for Arkansas from 2003-04 playing No. 1 singles and doubles, helping lead the Razorbacks to the 2004 Sweet 16 for the first time since 1986. Price earned bids to both the singles and doubles draws at the 2004 NCAA Championships and became one of the six players in school history to win more than 30 matches in a single season. Price was a John Van Nostrand Memorial Award winner in 2004 and is currently sixth in single-season singles victories in program history.
During his professional career, Price picked up wins over several ATP top-100 competitors, including 2015 Wimbledon doubles champion and ATP No. 2 Horia Tecau. In 2006, he earned a USA national ranking of No. 66 to go with his ATP rankings of No. 887 in singles and No. 764 in doubles.
Nathan worked in the tennis industry at Wilson Sporting Goods for six years as the global product manager for performance racquets. Price helped create many new performance tennis racquets and collaborated with Roger Federer and Serena Williams to design and develop their personalized line of racquets. Most notably, Price designed the racquet that Federer swung during his final four Grand Slam titles.
At the induction ceremony, Federer surprised Price with a congratulatory video that can be found here, helping to make the night even more special. For more information on Nathan Price, please read the USTA’s release about his induction, found here.
