Head Tabbed SEC Offensive Player of the Week

For the first time this season and in her career, junior outside hitter Taylor Head has been named SEC Volleyball’s Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

In Arkansas’ lone match of the week against Texas A&M, Head led the Hogs’ offensive effort in a five-set thriller victory with 23 kills, which matches her career high set earlier this year. She had just six errors on her 47 attempts for a .362 hitting percentage, the highest among Arkansas’ hitters on Wednesday.

Head also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball and tallied 15 digs for a double-double, her 12th of the season, which is the most for any Razorback. Her third solo block of the season came at the perfect time as she stuffed the Aggie offense and put away the fifth and final set 15-11 for the 3-2 match win.

The honor is the first conference award for Arkansas all season and Taylor’s first since winning Freshman of the Week on March 22, 2021.

Taylor and the Razorbacks are back in action this weekend for an SEC series against the Florida Gators in Gainesville. Saturday’s first match is set for noon on SEC Network Plus, and Sunday’s finale will be broadcast live on SEC Network at 11 a.m.
