Women’s basketball season has begun and we’re glad you’re joining us.
Juniors C’eira Ricketts and Lyndsay Harris and sophomore Sarah Watkins earned selection to the UTEP Thanksgiving Tournament All-Tournament team this week. Ricketts was named tournament Defensive MPV playing 54 minutes with 13 rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks, five steals and 11 points. Harris scored 28 with four assists and 12 rebounds while Watkins lead the team with 32 points, 14 rebounds and a .652 field goal percentage helping Arkansas to the tournament title.
Freshman Keira Peak played well over the weekend shooting .600 two 12 field goals including two three-pointers and a 3-for-7 performance from the line. She was second on the team scoring 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Peak also had three assists, one block and four steals in two games.
ARKANSAS’ RECORD WHEN….As November closes, the Razorbacks finish the month with a perfect 7-0 mark. That runs Arkansas’ all-time record to 111-28 in November. The Razorbacks open December at Texas-Arlington and are 151-61 all-time in December.The Razorbacks open the season 7-0 under head coach Tom Collen. It is the second time in Collen’s four years at Arkansas that the Razorbacks have started with at least seven wins. Arkansas opened 15-0 in 2007-08, Collen’s first year. Arkansas was also 7-0 in Susie Gardner’s final season in 2006-07. The Razorbacks were also 7-0 in 2000-01 and 1997-98 and 8-0 in 1999-2000. Check out the whole schedule here.
