Hogs Close Out Non-Con Schedule with Razorback Invitational
Arkansas’ last weekend of non-conference play will take place at home as the Hogs are set to host the Razorback Invitational at Barnhill Arena Sept. 18-20.
Southern Illinois, North Dakota State and Arkansas State head to Fayetteville for the tournament. The Razorbacks will play one match a day over three days, starting with the opening contest on Thursday against SIU at 7 p.m. The Salukis are currently 4-5 on the season, coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Golden Grizzly Invite last weekend in Oakland, Mich. The two teams have faced off just once before, nearly 25 years ago in a match that ended in an Arkansas sweep.
On Friday, Arkansas takes on NDSU at 7 p.m. The Hogs and Bison met for the first and only time back in 2018 in Minneapolis, a 3-1 victory for the Razorbacks. NDSU is 6-1 so far this season and on a two-match win streak after a home tournament last weekend.
Saturday’s Razorback Invitational finale features the Razorbacks and the Arkansas State Red Wolves at 2 p.m. Just as the schools’ football programs met for the first time earlier this month, Saturday will mark the first-ever match between the volleyball teams.
The Red Wolves are off to a good start at 4-4, which includes five matches against Power 4 teams. In those contests, Arkansas State is 1-4, but the Red Wolves have taken at least one set from the opponent in all but one of them. The victory in that group was a big one, a five-set win over then-No. 16 Mizzou on Sept. 4. The two teams faced off a second time the following night, and again went to five sets, but the Tigers came out on top.
All of Arkansas’ matches this weekend will be streamed on SEC Network+. The tournament’s neutral contests will not be streamed, but live stats will be available.
The Razorback Invitational is part of Arkansas’ 13-match home slate for 2025. Season and single match tickets are still available online, by phone or in person via Razorback Ticket Center. Doors open one hour prior to first serve, and parking is available in lots 204, 205, 207, 209, 211, 212, 214 and 215 surrounding Barnhill Arena.
The weekend’s neutral matches are free and open to the public, the full tournament schedule is below.
