Hogs Come Up Big In Home Win Against Houston

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Swimming and Diving notched a huge win against the Houston Cougars on Saturday afternoon. The Razorbacks put up a team score of 198, while the Cougars put up a team score of 116. This was the last home meet for a while, as the Hogs won’t return to the Natatorium until they host Little Rock on January 15, 2022.

“I was very proud of our team today,” Head Coach Neil Harper said. “We have really been working hard in the pool and weight room and they rose to the challenge. We were without five swimmers and divers today, three of which made NCAA’s last year, so it was always going to be a challenge. The team today not only accepted the challenge, but they also rose to the occasion. Houston swam incredibly fast the last time we competed against them, so we knew anything was possible. Our seniors and freshmen set the tone again today with valuable leadership and wins. Vanessa (three), Molly (two), and Andrea also won six individual events and one relay between them. Freshman Rebecca and Eleonora together with sophomores Bella and Grace won an additional five events to help secure the win. Everyone stepped up and we are very confident in our hard work, and team culture going forward. We still have a few weeks of hard work before we can focus on our Fall Invite in Knoxville.”
