Hogs Defeat Vanderbilt on the Road
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks won their Friday morning matchup with Vanderbilt in spectacular fashion by a score of 133-129.
The Hogs opened the meet with 2nd and 3rd-place finishes in a tightly contested 200 Medley Relay. Reka Rohacs and Sydney Craft had solid swims in the 500 and 1000 Freestyle, finishing 1st and 2nd in both events, respectively. Bara Matoskova notched a win in the 200 Freestyle, followed closely by Holly Robinson who placed 3rd. Gracie Colvin swam to a 3rd-place finish in the 50 Backstroke.
Delaney Harrison and Allie Thome swam a solid 50 Free. Harrison won the race with a 23.97 finish, and Thome placed 3rd. Harrison and Thome finished back-to-back in the 100 Free, swimming to 2nd and 3rd-place finishes. They were followed by Alma Dahl and Rebecca Simpson in 4th and 5th.
Bella Cothern notched a win in the 50 Fly and was followed closely by Alma Dahl who finished 2nd. Cothern followed her 50 Fly performance with a 2nd-place finish in the 100 IM. Holly Robinson and Allie Thome swam to 3rd and 4th place finishes. The Razorbacks needed to place 1st and 2nd in the 200 Freestyle Relay to win the meet, and they did just that. The A relay team swam to a 1:35.91 mark, and the B relay team outswam Vanderbilt’s A relay team by .36 of a second to secure the win for the Hogs.
The Razorbacks advance to 7-5 on the season and 1-2 in SEC meets.
