CARMEL, Calif. – The Arkansas men’s golf team went on a birdie barrage Saturday with 21 birdies and one eagle to fire an 8-under 352 on day two of the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Club.

Seven of the eight teams finished the day under par, including No. 9 Georgia, who’s 18-under second round keeps them atop the leaderboard and four shots clear of No. 4 Oklahoma State. Arkansas is alone in sixth place at 11-under for the tournament.

Freshman Dylan Naidoo led the way for the Razorbacks, firing a 4-under 68 with six birdies and two bogeys. He was flawless during the final 15 holes with five birdies to post his first collegiate round under par as he sits at T-14th overall at 73-68 – 141 (-3).

Alvaro Ortiz had a day of his own with a 3-under 67 as he continues to top the leaderboard and enters the final round in search of his second career victory. He eagled the second hole of the day and added three more birdies on the front side to end his round T-1st overall at 66-69 – 135 (-9).

Luis Garza posted an even-par 72 and is T-23rd overall at 70-72 – 142 (-2), while Mason Overstreet’s first collegiate round under par has him T-35th at 76-70 – 146 (+2).

William Buhl and Noah Edmondson rounded out the scoring for the Razorbacks as Buhl is T-43rd at 72-76 – 148 (+4) and Edmondson improved by 11 shots and is 48th at 84-73 – 157 (+13).

The Carmel Cup features a rare format with six players per team and the top five counting scores contributing to each round’s total. The Razorbacks will return to the course at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday with live stats available at Golfstat.com or via the Golfstat Live app.
