Hogs Head East for Ive League Matchups
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team (5-0) hits the road this weekend for two matches out east to face Yale and Penn.
The Razorbacks will play their first matches in New Haven, Conn. in program history when they face Yale (1-1) on Friday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. CT before a neutral site match against Penn (2-0) on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 12 p.m. CT.
Last time out, the Hogs traveled to Tulsa for a match against the Golden Hurricane. Arkansas claimed the doubles point and took three singles matches en route to a 4-0 victory.
Yale is 1-1 overall this year after a loss to Notre Dame to begin the season, and a win over Old Dominion to start their tally. The Bulldogs are led by No. 38 Vignesh Gogineni in the top spot and No. 82 Edward Liao.
Penn is coming off a doubleheader victory over Navy last weekend to start their spring campaign. The Quakers are 2-0 overall this year and will play Yale on Sunday, Jan. 25. Penn is headlined by No. 41 Manfredi Graziani, who has played at the No. 1 position this spring. In doubles, the tandem of Grazirani and Sandler are ranked No. 8 in the latest ITA rankings.
This will be the first time Arkansas has faced Yale and the first time since 1989 that they will play against Penn.
