Hogs Head to Ann Arbor for ITA Central Sectional Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team sends three members of the team to Ann Arbor, Mi., for the ITA Central Sectional Championships from Nov. 6-9 at Varsity Tennis Center. The tournament marks the second event of the week, as part of the squad has been competing in the PTT 25K Fayetteville so far this week.

The Razorbacks will be competing against student-athletes from three regions, as the qualified players from the Central, Midwest and Texas regions will all be playing in this section. The ITA Sectional Championships are the third of four qualifiers for the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships, which will be held from Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Fla. Six singles players from each section will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, while three doubles teams from each section will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Sectional Championships.

The Hogs will have Connor Smillie, Jakub Vrba and Ben Weintraub taking the court this week in Ann Arbor as they look to improve on their performances from the two previous tournaments at the ITA Regional Championships and the ongoing PTT 25K Fayetteville.
