Hogs Host Gators in Sunday Matinee

Arkansas volleyball has just three more home matches on the schedule this season and a heavy hitter comes to town on Sunday as the Hogs play host to the Florida Gators.

Florida is 11-7 overall on the season and is currently in fifth place in the SEC at 6-3. The Gators’ trio of conference losses have come to Mississippi State, LSU and No. 3 Kentucky and four of Florida’s seven total losses have been to ranked teams.

Despite falling out of the top 25 last week, the Gators have taken down four ranked opponents this season: No. 3 Pitt on Aug. 24, No. 20 Baylor on Sept. 14, No. 25 Missouri on Oct. 10 and No. 16 Tennessee on Oct. 15.

The match-up should be a great battle between setters: Florida’s Alexis Stucky and Arkansas’ Kiki Remensperger are back-to-back among the conference’s top 10: Stucky with 9.50 assists/set and Remensperger with 9.32 kills/set.

After opening conference play with a five-set win over Ole Miss, Arkansas has dropped eight straight and is 5-15 on the season. The Hogs are 5-51 all-time against Florida, 2-21 at Barnhill Arena.

The match is the second of three straight televised contests for the Hogs, and it will be on the biggest stage. Action is set to broadcast live on ESPN at 12 p.m. with Anne Marie Anderson and Emily Ehman on the call.

The match has been dubbed a Red Out with a t-shirt giveaway for general fans and a hat giveaway for Arkansas’ student section. The team will also sign autographs post-match. Tickets are available online or in person via Razorback Ticket Center.
