Hogs Set to Travel to Ann Arbor for ITA Sectional Championships
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas women’s tennis team is set to travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the ITA Sectional Championships from Nov. 7-10 at Varsity Tennis Center.
The 2024 ITA Sectional Championships will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw. Six singles players from each section (24 total) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championships (semifinalists and two quarterfinal playoff winners) while three doubles teams from each section (12 total) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championships (champion, finalist, and third-place team) in Waco, Texas.
The Central Sectional Championships include teams from the Central, Midwest and Texas regions as the Razorbacks will compete against student-athletes from nearly 20 schools.
The Hogs will have three members of the squad in Ann Arbor seeking to claim their spot in the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships as No. 18 Carolina Gomez Alonso will participate in the singles draw while No. 51 Anet Koskel and Grace O’Donnell are set to take part in the doubles draw.
Gomez Alonso faces No. 50 Sydni Ratliff (Ohio State) in the Round of 32 tomorrow to open the event as Koskel/O’Donnell will play No. 22 Julia Garcia Ruiz/Chloe Noel (Oklahoma) on Thursday in the Round of 16, both match times are TBD.
