Hogue Claims Fifth SEC Weekly Honor of the Season
For the fifth time in 12 weeks, junior Hannah Hogue has been named the SEC Setter of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
The Fort Smith native is the first Arkansas setter to win the award five times in one season and one of only two Arkansas players ever to win a weekly award five times in a season. Hogue and Kentucky’s Emma Grome have both received the honor five times, with two weeks left in the regular season.
Hogue recorded 43 assists in Arkansas’ sweep over Alabama on Friday, which pushed the Hogs to 22 wins on the season, the most since 2012 for the program and the most in one season for head coach Jason Watson in his tenure.
Hannah also recorded 11 digs for a double-double, her 11th of the season. She had Arkansas’ only ace of the day, which brings her to 41 total this season, and also registered one kill and one block assist.
Hogue is currently third in the SEC in assists per set with 11.45, which is good for fifth nationally. She also checks in at second in the conference in aces per set at 0.44.
Hannah and the Hogs hit the road for an SEC away match at Ole Miss on Wednesday. The contest is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on SEC Network.
