How They Rank: 2017 Single-Season Numbers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Behind the Razorbacks’ turn-around efforts that included the program’s seventh NCAA Tournament appearance, several players registered standout numbers that earned them spots on Arkansas’ single-season list. Among those marks were a pair of season records with Nicole Schroeder hitting 17 home runs and the defense registering a single-season best .968 fielding percentage.

Collectively, Arkansas’ offense tallied top-five, single-season marks in batting average (.284), slugging percentage (.468), on-base percentage (.367), runs scored (273), doubles (68), home runs (59), runs batted in (246) and total bases (669).

In the biggest statistical turn-around of the 2017 campaign, the Razorbacks’ pitching staff of Caroline Hedgcock, Grace Moll, Allison Stewart, Autumn Storms and Katie Warrick knocked more than four runs off its ERA from the previous year, finishing the season with a 2.82 ERA which marks the ninth-best mark in program history. Arkansas’ .968 fielding percentage—behind a program-low 52 errors—replaced the previous record of .966 established by the 2001 team.

With the team performing well on the field, the Razorbacks’ fans responded in kind by showing up at Bogle Park in program-best numbers. Four of the top-10 home attendance figures were posted in 2017 including a record crowd of 2,023 that was on hand for the May 6 game against Georgia. Overall, more than 14,000 fans—a program high 14,411 to be exact—watched Arkansas softball at Bogle Park this season.
