Ingram Rees in the quarterfinals
ALBANY, Ga. – University of Arkansas women’s golfers Kristin Ingram and Corrina Rees both advanced to the quarterfinals of the 94th WSGA Amateur Championship at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Albany, Ga., Wednesday.
The duo are trying to follow in the footsteps of former Razorbacks Stacy Lewis and Lucy Nunn who both won the event as amateurs.
Ingram downed former professional golfer Wendy Golden-Patterson 4 & 3 while Rees picked up a win over Megan Vaughn, 1-up.
Tiffany Phelps also won picking up the 3 & 1 victory over Kathryn Fowler of Americus, Ga., in the First Flight.
Play at the WSGA Amateur continues through Friday with a 36-hole final. Ingram faces Brooke Pancake of Chattanooga, Tenn., at 8:18 a.m. Rees takes on Virginia Derby Grimes of Meridian, Miss., at 8:26 a.m. Phelps faces Taffy Brower of Boynton Beach, Fla., at 8:58 a.m.
