Jackson, Madkin Earn All-Conference Honors

While Arkansas’ season has come to an end, the accolades have just begun for the Hogs, starting with all-conference nods for Courtney Jackson and Aniya Madkin.

In her final season, Courtney Jackson proved she was one of the conference and country’s best liberos and was named All-SEC Second Team on Sunday for her efforts.

Jackson led Arkansas in digs (458) and digs per set (4.49) in 2024, her fourth straight season as the Hogs’ primary libero. She came in third in the league in digs per set, and currently sits at 66th nationally. Jackson’s 4.49 digs per set this season are a new personal single season high, and the most for any Hog in a single season since Okiana Valle’s 5.30 in 2018.

She had 15 matches with 15+ digs, including 40 against Tulsa on Sept. 12, a new program single match record. Courtney posted concludes her Arkansas career with 1,738 total digs, which is third in the program career standings.

She also set a new personal single season high in assists with 154 this season, bringing her career total to 530. She was third on the team in service aces with 13, and finishes with 101 at Arkansas.

Jackson was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2024 and three times overall. She was named to SEC All-Freshman team in 2021, but this marks her first time as All-SEC.

Madkin was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, one of seven honorees across the league. The rookie outside hitter came in first for the Hogs in kills (331) and kills per set (3.72). It’s the first season a freshman has led the squad in kills and kills per set since Jill Gillen’s rookie campaign in the 2020-21 slate.

Madkin had team-high kills in 15 of 28 contests of the season, and in all but three of the team’s SEC matches. She had 16 double-digit kill matches, and three with 20+. She topped the team in attack attempts this season as well (1,053), which included 86 against Georgia on Sept. 25, a new program single match record.

Aniya was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice – on Oct. 7 and Oct. 14 – Arkansas’ first repeat Freshman of the Week since Taylor Head in the split 2020-21 season and the first Hog to earn the honor in back-to-back weeks since Jasmine Norton in 2009. She is the team’s first All-SEC Freshman team honoree since Courtney Jackson in 2021.
