Jallow-Lockhart shares National Track Athlete of the Year honor
FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback senior Sanu Jallow-Lockhart’s collegiate record performance in winning the NCAA 800m title earned her National Track Athlete of the Year as announced by USTFCCCA on Monday.
Georgia sprinter Adaejah Hodge, who broke collegiate records in the 100m and 200m, shared the honor with Jallow-Lockhart.
An impressive season for Jallow-Lockhart included her first individual SEC title in the 800m, which she attained with a SEC Championship meet record of 1:58.82.
On the way to the NCAA Championships, Jallow-Lockhart just missed the 800m collegiate record by 0.01 of a second with a 1:57.74 performance at the NCAA West regional hosted by Arkansas.
In the NCAA Championship semifinal, a 1:58.89 effort bettered the previous best of 1:58.95 in a NCAA semi.
Leading from the start in the NCAA final, Jallow-Lockhart shattered the collegiate record with a 1:56.86 victory over a field that generated six marks among the collegiate all-time top 10.

Closing out the NCAA Championships with the 4 x 400m relay, Jallow-Lockhart anchored the Razorbacks to victory with a 49.01 split, fifth fastest ever at NCAA Outdoor, as Arkansas topped the field by two seconds in 3:18.88, the second fastest collegiate time ever.
During her senior campaign, Jallow-Lockhart anchored the Razorback relay to an elite level of performances that included five meet and facility records while generating marks that rank among the collegiate all-time top 10.
