Janice Keppler at Last Chance

FAYETTEVILLE – It was a slow day of action for No. 8 Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field Friday at the Arkansas Last Chance, at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Senior Janice Keppler, hoping to improve her NCAA mark in the pole vault, fell just short with her third-place finish and clearance of 13-2.5. Her season best of 13-6.5 ranks No. 23 in the NCAA.

Junior Shantel Thompson competed in the long jump and the triple jump. She finished eighth in the long jump with a best of 19-2 and sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 40-5.

Sophomore Brittany Hyter finished third overall and second among collegians in the 60-meter hurdles. She clocked a time of 8.56.

The accepted entries list for the NCAA Indoor Championships, held March 12-13 in Fayetteville, will be released Monday night.
