
Kim Finishes Top 10 At All-America Golf Classic
EL PASO, Texas – Arkansas sophomore Charles Kim capped play at the 2016 Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic on Sunday, finishing T-7th overall after a final round 1-over 72 at El Paso Country Club.
For the weekend, Kim posted rounds of 72-67-72 – 211 (-2) to record a top-10 finish. His final round featured five birdies, including back-to-back birdies to close out the front nine.
The Cedar Park, Texas, native finished second in the field with 15 total birdies. LSU’s Sam Burns captured a 3-shot victory at 12-under for the tournament, while Southern California’s Justin Suh finished alone in second place at 9-under.
The prestigious event features 21 of the nation’s top collegiate golfers, including 12 All-Americans that are ranked among the top 100 amateur golfers according to World Amateur Rankings.
To be eligible for competition, student-athletes must have been named as an All-America team honoree during the previous year as well the U.S. Amateur Champion or Runner Up who still have collegiate eligibility.
Along with the opportunity to compete against the best-of-the-best from the collegiate level, each university represented at the Western Refining College All-Americans will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Kim and the Razorbacks return to action in February, opening the spring season on Feb. 6-7, 2017, at the Sea Best Invitational. The two-day event will be held in Ponta Vedra, Florida, at TPC Sawgrass.
