Kuhio Aloy Named to Baseball America National Team of the Week
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Kuhio Aloy was named to Baseball America’s National College Team of the Week after his big performance in Arkansas’ midweek win against Northwestern State on April 28 before an SEC series win against Ole Miss on May 1-3 at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Aloy, named the SEC Player of the Week yesterday, slashed a team-leading .600/.625/1.267 with nine hits, including three home runs, and seven RBI on the week. The Razorback designated hitter swatted home runs in all three games against the Rebels, highlighted by his 469-foot solo shot in Sunday’s series-clinching win. Aloy finished the weekend with a team-leading seven hits, including a double and his three homers, as well as with a team-high six RBI to power Arkansas to its sixth consecutive series win against Ole Miss.
Aloy is the second Razorback to earn a weekly honor from Baseball America this season. Camden Kozeal was named to Baseball America’s National College Team of the Week for Week 2 after his big performance in Arkansas’ weekend series sweep against Xavier, slashing .538/.571/1.231 with a team-leading seven hits, including a double, a triple and two home runs, and a team-high seven RBI in three games against the Musketeers at Baum-Walker Stadium. Kozeal hit for the cycle in the second game of the series against Xavier to become only the third Razorback player in the Dave Van Horn era (2003-pres.) to accomplish the feat.
Baseball America’s honor roll features one player at every position, including the top-performing two-way player, and four pitchers. It also includes a designated hitter spot, which serves as a wild card to recognize an outstanding performer at any position, regardless of whether he served as a designated hitter that week.
