Lady'Bck volleyball hosts South Carolina Sunday

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team hosts Southeastern Conference rival South Carolina Sunday at 1:30 p.m., in Barnhill Arena.

Hoping to avoid the big-win hangover after Friday’s upset win over fifth-ranked Florida, Arkansas will have its hands full with a solid defensive team in the Gamecocks as league action continues.

“South Carolina has a new coach and a renewed approach,” said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. “They are always solid defensively and they always serve well. We’re going to have to play well for the entire match.”

Arkansas improved to 9-10 and 3-6 in the league with the team’s fourth consecutive five-game match. The Lady’Backs have won three of their last four including that big victory over the Gators Friday. Florida defeated South Carolina in three games last Wednesday.

The Carolina contest marks the end of the first round of SEC matches. The Lady Razorbacks work their way through the second half of the SEC schedule beginning with a trip to No. 18 LSU and Ole Miss next weekend.

Arkansas match with South Carolina is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start in Barnhill Arena. Tickets will be available at the door.
