Landry in Round of 16 at U.S. Amateur Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback golfer Andrew Landry has advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championship at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Village of Pinehurst, N.C. The PING honorable mention All-American is taking on Morgan Hoffmann, the second-ranked junior player in the country.

In the first round, Landry defeated Scott Langley, 2 & 1. He never trailed in the match and built a lead as much as 4-up through the 12th hole. He clinched the win with a par on hole No. 17. In the next round, Landry beat the University of Florida’s Billy Horschel, 5 & 3. The two were all square through two holes before Landry took control and sealed the victory with a birdie on the 15th hole.
