Landry Leads Callaway Invitational

SAN DIEGOArkansas sophomore Andrew Landry is tied for the lead at the 2007 Callaway Invitational after Monday’s first two rounds at the par-72, 6,920-yard Farms Golf Club with a 5-under-par score of 139.

The Razorbacks are in sixth as a team at 16-over-par 592 with a first round 302 and a second round 290. Texas Arlington leads the way at 5-over-par 581 with San Diego State a close second at 4-over-par 582.

Landry opened with a 2-over par 74, but responded with a career-low 65 in the second round to tie UTA’s Bryce Easton for the lead, who shot rounds of 69 and 70 on Monday.

Jason Turner was the Hogs’ No. 2 scorer with rounds of 73 on the opening 18 holes and 76 in round two. He is tied for 28th place at 3-over par 149. Dalton Owens, who is seeing his first tournament action as a Razorback, opened with a 4-over 76 in the first round, but responded with a solid 74 in the second round. He is tied for 32nd position at 6-over 150.

Redshirt freshman Stephen Cox struggled to a 79 in the first round, but rebounded for a 75 in round to and is tied for 48th at 10-over 154. True freshman Frederic Colombo is tied for 73rd place after rounds of 81 and 80 on Monday.

The final round is slated for Tuesday morning from The Farms Golf Club.
