Landry Tied for Fifth after Second Round of NCAA Central Regional

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. Arkansas sophomore Andrew Landry is tied for fifth after the second round of the NCAA Central Golf Regional at the par-72, 7,214-yard Rich Harvest Farms on Friday.

The sophomore from Port Neches, Texas, carded a 1-under-par 71 in the second round after a 2-over-par 74 in round one. He is 1-over-par after 36 holes and needs to finish among the low two individuals not on qualifying teams after Saturday’s final round to advance to NCAA Championship play.

Landry got things going early in the second round with a birdie on the par-4, 448-yard opening hole. He then bogeyed the par-4 third hole but came right back with a birdie on No. 4. After a bogey on No. 6, Landry birdied the ninth hole to finish the front side at 1-under-par 35.

He shot even-par on the back nine with birdies on holes No. 10 and 12 and bogeys on holes 11 and 14. Landry will tee off his final round at 9:02 a.m. Saturday at the Rich Harvest Farms.
