Lewis cards 73 in the second round of U.S. Women's Open

: FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis carded a second round 73 at the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Resort in Southern Pines, N.C., Saturday. : Lewis got in round two on Saturday and came off the golf course in 93rd place with a 151. : Her second round match was scheduled for late in the day on Friday but was delayed by inclement weather. : The most decorated golfer in Lady Razorback history, Lewis battled to overcome a tough first round score of 78 in her first appearance in one of golfing’s biggest events. A three-time all-American and first-team all-Southeastern Conference selection, her collegiate career also includes the 2007 NCAA individual title won in May at Daytona Beach, Fla. : Her collegiate accomplishments are equaled by her amateur ones. Lewis was named the top-ranked amateur for 2006 by Golfweek and recently finished tied for fifth place overall at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, one of four LPGA majors. : Lewis won the Southern Amateur title and helped the United States win both the women’s and overall team titles at the Copa de las Americas just prior to the Open. : Lewis’ busy summer schedule continues with several other events and gives way to her collegiate season in the fall.
