Little Rock Comes to Fayetteville for Two Midweeks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – More in-state action makes it way to Baum-Walker Stadium this week.

Arkansas concludes its homestand with a two-game midweek series against Little Rock. Game one is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, and game two is slated for 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 7.

The Razorbacks, Baseball America’s No. 1 team in the country, are 22-4 overall this season and ride a two-game winning streak. Arkansas improved to 7-2 in SEC play on the year with two come-from-behind victories against Auburn over the week, including a thrilling 6-5 walk-off win in Saturday’s finale.

Little Rock, meanwhile, dropped all three games to fellow in-state foe Arkansas State last weekend. The Trojans are 12-11 this season with a win against Auburn as well as two wins against nationally ranked Southern Illinois earlier in the year.

Comeback Kids
Arkansas’ flair for the dramatic continued over the weekend.

The Razorbacks picked up their third consecutive SEC series win of the season, taking two of three contests from Auburn at Baum-Walker Stadium. Both Hog wins were of the comeback variety, with Arkansas overcoming four-run and five-run deficits in games two and three, respectively, en route to victory.

The Hogs now have 10 come-from-behind wins in which the team trailed after an inning this season.

Homer-Happy Hogs
The Razorbacks have smashed the second-most home runs in all of college baseball through 26 games. Arkansas has hit 46 home runs this year and sit four behind national leader Old Dominion’s 50 dingers.

Arkansas’ astounding 1.77 homers per game ranks third in the country behind only Northwestern (2.00) and Old Dominion (1.92). The Razorbacks are also eighth in the nation in slugging percentage with a mark of .501, which ranks second in the SEC.

And That’s The Bottom Line, ‘Cause Baseball America Said So!
Arkansas is the No. 1 team in college baseball for another week.

The Razorbacks remained the top-ranked team in Baseball America’s week eight poll, which was released Monday. It is the sixth straight week of the season that Arkansas holds the No. 1 spot in at least one of the six major polls.
