Martinez Dives to 12th-Place Finish in 1-Meter Finals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore diver Malea Martinez dazzled in 1-meter prelims, posting a score of 272.55 and a 15^th-place finish in this morning’s event, earning her a spot in the 1-meter final. In the final, Martinez dove to a score of 559.70 which was good for a 12^th-place finish.

“The next two days are big days for the Razorbacks,” commented head diving coach Abel Sanchez. “Malea did a fantastic job today. I am very proud of her and all the girls,” who all dove in today’s prelim. Bryze Sanchez notched a 33^rd-place finish with a score of 249.45. Fellow freshmen Isa Perreira and Lauren French finished 41^st and 42^nd, earning scores of 230.00 and 226.80. Coach Sanchez and the team are, “excited for the next two days.”
