Melton picks up personal best in day three

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The individual performance of Arkansas swimmer Kobie Melton highlighted the Hogs’ third day at NCAA Championships.

Melton clocked a 52.06 in the 100-backstroke preliminary, which is a new personal best.

Melton, along with Andrea Sansores, Vanessa Herrmann, and Bella Cothern took the pool for the 400-medley relay final but were disqualified for an early start.

Head Coach Neil Harper: “We battled hard today and came away with some personal-best. The relay disqualification was tough but we are positive about finishing strong tomorrow with more individual and relay opportunities!”

The Hogs close out the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday with the preliminaries of 100-freestyle, 200-backstroke, 200-breaststroke, and 200-butterfly in the morning. The 400-freestyle relay team will compete in the final, which will be held in the evening.
