Men's Tennis adds Mosvold to the 2022-23 roster

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback men’s tennis announced the addition of NJCAA doubles national champion Jakob Mosvold to the 2022-23 roster on Friday. The Houston, Texas native was also the national runner-up in the Flight 5 singles bracket last season while at Tyler Junior College.

Mosvold helped Tyler to a third-place finish at the 2022 NJCAA Men’s Nationals with his doubles national title, teaming with Mikar Fisher to upset the top ranked pairing of Luciano Fisicaro and Karlo Krolo (6-1, 6-4) out of Seward County. The Apache pair were tabbed as the No. 1 double duos in the final ITA rankings, while Mosvold was selected as the 35th-ranked singles player in the country.

Prior to his stint in Tyler, Texas, Mosvold spent a year at Montana State. He was a four-star recruit coming out of Houston Christian High School, winning back-to-back state championships before his senior season was cancelled.

Mosvold comes from a family with plenty of collegiate athletic experience. His mother, Stina Mosvold, played and coached tennis at the University of Houston, while his sister Linnea played soccer at Colorado Christian University from 2017-2021.

“This is an incredible opportunity to play and attend the University of Arkansas”, Mosvold said. “I can’t thank the coaches enough for believing in me and I am so excited to see what we can do as a team and as a program. Let’s go Razorbacks!”
