
Men's Tennis Begins Play at the ITF 15K Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team opened play at its second tournament of the fall season, competing at the ITF 15K Fayetteville with five Razorbacks in action Monday in the first round of the qualifying draw.
Ben Weintraub began the tournament on a positive note, winning his match against Vlado Jankanj, 6-3, 6-4. Weintraub will play for a spot in the main draw tomorrow in the second round of qualifying versus Moritz Kudernatsch.
Brendan Boland, Marino Jakic, Eric Padgham and Connor Smillie all fell in the opening round of the qualifying draw.
Lukas Palovic, Arsene Pougault and Jakub Vrba earned automatic berths into the main draw with Pougault set to face Alan Magadan in the first round on Court 2.
Opening round action of the doubles draw starts tomorrow with Boland and Jakic matching up against Raphael Perot and Rudy Quan on Court 1 while Gabriel Elicha Navas teams up with Blu Baker to face
