Men's Tennis Heads to Stillwater for ITA Regional Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team continues its fall season as they travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for the ITA Central Region Championships. The tournament runs from October 18-22 at the Greenwood Tennis Center on the campus of Oklahoma State University.

The Razorbacks will be competing against student-athletes from 13 schools including Creighton, Drake, Lindenwood, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Saint Louis, Tulsa, and Wichita State. The five-day event begins on October 18 at 9 a.m. and concludes on October 22. Winners of the singles and doubles draws, along with other finalists, will qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships in November.

Arkansas will have all eleven players on the roster representing the Hogs in the event as the team looks to improve on their performances at the ITA All-American Championships. Graduate Jared Horwood, seniors Foster Rogers and Jakob Mosvold, junior Jake Sweeney, sophomore Božo Barun, and freshman Connor Smillie will begin play on Wednesday in the Round of 128 of the singles main draw. Seniors Stefanos Savva, Alan Sau Franco, Melvin Manuel and sophomores Gerard Planelles Ripoll and Benedikt Emesz all received byes into the Round of 64.
