FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team (4-1) concludes their homestand as they host No. 25 Memphis (5-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Billingsley Tennis Center.
The Razorbacks finished 2-0 last weekend with wins over New Mexico and South Alabama. The Hogs have claimed the doubles point in each of their four victories this season as the duos of Jared Horwood/Melvin Manuel and Jake Sweeney/Connor Smillie led the charge by winning each of their matches on courts one and three this past week.
The trio of Božo Barun, Benedikt Emesz, and Karlo Kajin posted strong performances last weekend, going 2-0 on courts two, five, and six.
Memphis is off to a 5-1 start this season and recently split a pair of matches against then-No. 9 Stanford and Nevada at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Tigers have also picked up victories over UAB, then-No. 11 Harvard, Northwestern, and Indiana.
Memphis is led by juniors Pablo Alemany and Conor Gannon, who are both 3-1 at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively. The singles lineup also features senior No. 80 Pau Fanlo and junior Harry Rock, who leads the team with four singles wins. The tandem of Gannon and Rock are 5-1 on court two in doubles play while Alemany and redshirt senior Charlie Barry hold a 3-1 record at the No. 1 position.
