Men's Tennis Set to Open 2026 Home Slate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –  The Arkansas men’s tennis team returns home to Billingsley Tennis Center this weekend for two matches to open its 2026 home slate.

The Razorbacks (2-0) face the FGCU Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. before the conclusion of the doubleheader at 7 p.m. against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles.

The Hogs opened the spring season with two wins over Rice and UTRGV on the road last week as all but three Razorbacks earned at least one singles and doubles victory over the two matches. In the first match, Brendan Boland and Dmitry Kopilevich impressed in their doubles debut, collecting a 6-3 win on court three, while No. 36 Connor Smillie and Jakub Vrba clinched the doubles point in the top spot. Arkansas claimed four singles courts en route to a 5-2 victory in the season opener.

The duo of No. 67 Eric Padgham and Ben Weintraub picked up a doubles win for the Hogs before UTRGV stole the doubles point to start the second match. Lukas Palovic, No. 18 Vrba, Weintraub, Kopilevich and Gabriel Elicha Navas along with Padgham all earned singles wins for the Razorbacks to collect a 6-1 victory over the Vaqueros.

Florida Gulf Coast is coming off a 13-14 season in 2025, going 6-2 in the ASUN and ended last year with a 4-3 loss to Stetson in the ASUN Tournament. The Eagles are led by Jonathan Baron, who posted eight singles wins last season along appearing in 27 doubles matches, posting a 10-4 record with partner Hugo Magnusson.

The Golden Hurricane will visit Fayetteville after a season opener against St. Josephs in Stillwater, Okla. on Friday morning. Oral Roberts did not see much success a season ago, going 5-18 overall.

Oral Roberts and FGCU will play a neutral site match on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Billingsley Tennis Center.

Admission is free, live stats & live video are available on the men’s tennis schedule page.
