Micolani in Preseason ITA Men's Rankings

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas men’s tennis senior Giammarco Micolani stands No. 54 nationally in singles according to the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Preseason Rankings released Tuesday.

The Lecce, Italy native played his first match with the Razorbacks in January 2015. Last season he collected nine wins in singles and finished in the ITA singles rankings at No. 79. In April, Micolani was named to the 2015 All-SEC Second Team.

ITA All-American Championships selections were also announced, and Micolani received a bid to the qualifying singles as well as Mike Redlicki made the alternate list. Both Redlicki and Micolani will begin play in the qualifying doubles draw. Austin Robles, Branch Terrell, David Herrerias, Jacob Herndon, Johan den Toom, Jose Salazar, Juan Marino, Santiago Munoz, Mike Redlicki and William Albanese will all begin play in the prequalifying singles Oct. 3-12.

The Razorbacks opened the 2015 fall season last weekend at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. The team will head to Atlanta, Ga for the Georgia Tech Invitational Sept. 25-27.
