Midweek Match at Auburn Up Next for Volley Hogs

As the season winds down, Arkansas volleyball has its first midweek SEC contest this week as the Hogs travel to Auburn, Ala. to take on the Tigers.

Auburn is .500 in conference play through eight matches, with its losses coming only to ranked teams (Florida, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee). The Tigers are holding their opponents to the fourth-lowest hitting percentage in the SEC at .177 and check in at No. 2 in the conference in blocks/set (3.09) and digs/set (14.60).

Auburn’s Kate Mansfield is currently putting up 1.68 blocks per set, good for first in the SEC and in the top five nationally. She is one of only six players in the country with 100+ total blocks on the season (106), and the only Power 4 player in triple figures.

Arkansas will look to snap a seven-match losing streak and improve upon its one win in conference play. The Razorbacks are also still searching for their first road victory of the season, as they’ve not won away from Barnhill Arena since Sept. 14.

In addition to being the Razorbacks’ first conference midweek match, it’ll also be the first nationally televised appearance for Arkansas this season. The next three outings for the Hogs will be on linear TV, starting with Wednesday’s first serve at 6 p.m. in Auburn on SEC Network.
