Midweek Report: Week 7

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Each week during the season, the Midweek Report will serve as a recap of the previous week of action for Arkansas Soccer, while previewing the week ahead and keeping up with national rankings and individual accolades.

Week 7 Recap

No. 11 Arkansas, in its lone match for the week, defeated Georgia 2-1 at Razorback Field in front of the fifth-largest crowd in team history to improve to 12-1-0 on the season and a perfect 5-0 in Southeastern Conference play.

The Razorbacks’ home win streak, now at seven games, is tied with the team record set 16 years ago from 2000-01. Their five-game win streak against SEC opponents is also a new team record – the original mark of three wins was broken during Arkansas’ 2-1 win against Ole Miss on Sept. 25.

Defeating the Bulldogs (3-8-1, 0-5-0) also kept Arkansas on top of SEC standings along with No. 4 South Carolina (11-0-1, 5-0-0). As of Wednesday, the Razorbacks are tied with the Gamecocks in first place with 15 points earned.
