National Athlete of the Week honor for Kaylyn Brown

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas junior sprinter Kaylyn Brown earned National Athlete of the Week honors from USTFCCCA for her performances at the LSU Invitational this past weekend.

Brown led a Razorback 1-2-3 sweep in the 400m as she generated a season best time of 50.09 that ranks fourth among collegians this season as well as fourth on the 2026 world list. Sanaria Butler (50.80) and Sanu Jallow-Lockhart (51.20) placed second and third in the race.

A career best of 49.13 by Brown from 2024 shares the American collegiate record with another Razorback, Britton Wilson.

Brown and Butler then finished 1-2 in the second section of the 200m as the top collegians overall in the meet with windy times of 22.57 and 22.92, respectively, aided by a wind reading of +3.5. Thelma Davies had the top time of 22.41w from another section.

Closing out the meet in the 4 x 400m relay, with Arkansas and LSU equal at 1:43.80 after the first two legs, Brown delivered a 49.84 third leg split to give the Razorbacks a decisive lead. Arkansas won the race in a meet and facility record of 3:23.68 to defeat LSU (3:26.89) and professional squad Hurdle Mechanic (3:27.04).

The previous LSU Invitational and Bernie Moore Stadium record of 3:25.64 was set by Texas in 2022, which included a Longhorn foursome of Stacey Ann Williams, Rhasidat Adeleke, Julien Alfred, and Kennedy Simon.

An impressive array of 4 x 400m relay times this season has enabled Arkansas to claim meet and facility records at Baylor, Texas A&M, and LSU with marks that rank No. 3, No. 5, and No. 11 on the UA all-time list.

Listed below are the records the Razorbacks have broken along with the split from Brown, who has run third leg on all three relay efforts.
