FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ranked No. 2 in the nation entering the 2015 cross country season, Dominique Scott moves up one spot to No. 1 in the latest Saucony Flo50 rankings released on Monday.

The two-time cross country All-American opened her senior season with a first-place performance at the Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3. Scott controlled the race from the start crossing the finish 20 seconds ahead of teammate and second place finisher Devin Clark in 16:07.18.

Sixth at the 2014 NCAA Cross Country Championships, Scott went on to play a major role for the Razorbacks during the indoor season earning two NCAA titles (3,000m, DMR) contributing to Arkansas’ first national championship. The distance phenom continued her success capturing the runner-up spot at 5,000 and 10,000 meters at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships responsible for 16 of the Razorbacks 43 points which secured them a spot on the podium.

Prior to the Chile Pepper Festival, Scott last competed at the Lignano Meeting International in July running 4:08.65 to post the best time at that distance by a collegian this year. The performance also earned Scott her third outdoor program record (1500m, 5,000m, 10,000m) breaking the previous time of 4:10.49 set by Christin Wurth in 2003.

Arkansas heads to Madison, Wis. for the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Oct. 16.
