No. 123 Vrba Falls in Round of 32 at NCAA Singles Championships
ORLANDO, Fla. – With a trip to the Round of 16 of the NCAA Singles Championships on the line, No. 123 Jakub Vrba fell short to No. 92 Luca Pow (Wake Forest) in straight sets on Wednesday morning at the USTA National Campus.
Pow claimed an early lead in the first set and never looked back, before clinching the first set, 6-3. In the second set, the score was tied at, 2-2 before Pow went on to win the set, 6-3, clinching the match for the Demon Deacon.
Vrba finishes the fall season with a 10-4 record in ITA singles events, including six wins coming against ranked opponents.
