No. 13 Soccer's Wild Match at Creighton Ends in a 3-3 Draw
OMAHA, Neb. – The 13th-ranked Razorbacks (2-2-2) went into halftime up 2-0 against Creighton (1-4-1) but gave up three straight goals before finding the equalizer with 5 minutes to play to draw the match 3-3.
How it Happened
Arkansas opened the scoring just two minutes in when senior midfielder Zoe Susi took a touch inside the 18-yard box for her first goal of the season.
Freshman forward Natalie Wagner doubled the Hogs’ lead in the 44th minute. Her initial shot was blocked by Creighton goalkeeper Alyssa Zalac and Wagner’s rebound was deflected towards the goal, but a Bluejay defender whiffed the clearance and the ball rolled across the line.
The Razorbacks outshot Creighton 8-4 before the break.
The Bluejays scored three goals in a span of eight minutes, including a brace by substitute Jalen Chaney in the 68th and 71st minutes.
Arkansas found the equalizer with five minutes left in the match. Senior forward Taylor Berman took a pass from Makenzie Malham and turned around a Creighton defender at the penalty spot. Berman’s shot split two defenders and Zalac.
Both teams finished with 11 shots.
