
No. 32 Women’s Tennis Host No. 29 Tennessee and No. 9 Georgia
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 32 Razorback women’s tennis team (12-5, 5-2) continues Southeastern Conference play at home this weekend, hosting No. 29 Tennessee (9-6, 3-4) on Friday and No. 10 Georgia (11-3, 6-1) on Sunday. Friday’s match against Tennessee will be aired on the Cracked Racquets broadcast as part of their SEC Tennis Redzone coverage.
The Razorbacks improved to 12-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play, splitting last weekend’s matches in a 6-1 loss to No. 9 Auburn and a 4-1 win over No. 43 Alabama.
The Lady Volunteers lost four straight SEC matches, splitting the weekend with a loss to No. 12 Texas A&M and then sweeping No. 61 LSU for their third conference win this season. In the latest ITA Rankings, Tennessee has three ranked singles players and two ranked doubles pairs. In the No. 1 spot for the Volunteers, Rebeka Mertena is ranked 44th and is 4-3 overall this dual season going 3-1 against nationally-ranked opponents.
Georgia is 4-0 on the road this season, all against ranked opponents. The Bulldogs are coming off a split weekend in the SEC, defeating No. 61 LSU 4-1 but getting swept 7-0 by No. 12 Texas A&M. In a midweek matchup, Georgia came out on top 4-0 over No. 28 Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs feature five singles players and a pair of doubles teams in the latest ITA Rankings. Mell Reasco is currently ranked No. 28 and plays at court two for Georgia, boasting a 20-7 overall record this season, going 7-4 in the No. 2 spot for the dual season and 7-6 against nationally-ranked opponents.
Arkansas is set to face No. 29 Tennessee on Friday, April 1 at 1 p.m., and No. 10 Georgia on Sunday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center. Live stats and streaming will be available on the schedule page.
