
No. 33 Women’s Tennis On the Road at Auburn and Alabama
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 33 Razorback women’s tennis team (11-4, 4-1) continues play against Southeastern Conference opponents this weekend, traveling to take on No. 8 Auburn (14-2, 5-0) on Friday and No. 38 Alabama (12-5, 2-3) on Sunday.
The Razorbacks split the weekend, defeating No. 38 South Carolina (4-3) and falling to No. 16 Florida (3-4). The win over South Carolina led Arkansas to its best start in SEC play since 2017, going 4-0 to start the year.
Arkansas continues to dominate in doubles play, winning their eighth straight doubles point in the matches this weekend. In the No. 1 position for the Hogs, the tandem of Tatum Rice and Morgan Cross improved to 20-4 overall this season. The duo has now won six straight matches and clinched the doubles point over Florida’s duo.
Sophomore Indianna Spink had an impressive weekend as well, taking down South Carolina’s Megan Davies on court three in a marathon 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 victory to clinch the win. In doubles with partner Kelly Keller, they clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win to help lead Arkansas to the win.
Auburn continues to go undefeated in SEC play, defeating Mississippi State (5-2) and Ole Miss (4-3) over the weekend. The Tigers have now won five matches in a row and won the doubles point in the last seven matches. The No. 22 ranked duo of Ariana Arseneault and Selin Ovunc are on a five-match win streak, going 2-0 against nationally-ranked opponents and going 9-4 this dual season.
The Crimson Tide is coming off a pair of tough losses, falling to Ole Miss (2-4) and Mississippi State (2-4) on the road. Alabama has two ranked singles players in No. 74 Loudmilla Bencheikh and No. 107 Petra Sedlackova. In the No. 3 spot for the Crimson Tide, Sedlackova holds a 13-2 record and Ola Pitak is 11-4 at the No.2 spot. In doubles play, Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak lead with a 14-2 overall dual record, going 12-1 at the No. 3 spot.
