No. 44 Men’s Tennis Host No. 35 Ole Miss in SEC Home Opener

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team (12-2) returns home to Billingsley Tennis Center, facing No. 35 Ole Miss (11-2) in its SEC home opener at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Razorbacks began league play 0-1 last week, falling to No. 56 Vanderbilt on the road.

Against the Commodores last Thursday, the Razorbacks’ two points came in singles wins by Stefanos Savva and Gerard Planelles Ripoll on courts one and six respectively. Freshman Planelles Ripoll leads the team on a six-game win streak to improve to 11-1 overall this dual season. For the first time this season, the doubles duo of Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel debuted in the ITA Doubles Rankings at No. 75. The pair is 4-1 this spring, dropping their first match against Vanderbilt’s Siim Troost/Jeremie Casabon.

Ole Miss is on an eight-game win streak, defeating No. 18 Mississippi State to open SEC play then earning a doubleheader sweep over Belmont. In the win over the Bulldogs, No. 69 Nikola Slavic defeated his opponent in the top spot to improve to 9-2 this dual season and win his fourth straight match. In doubles, the duo of Slavic and Lukas Engelhardt took a ranked win over No. 33 Malesevic/Hernadez to clinch the doubles point for the Rebels.
