No. 6 Mississippi State Tops Razorbacks Friday Night
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 35 Arkansas men’s tennis returned home to Billingsley Tennis Center on Friday evening and fell 5-2 to the No. 6 Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Razorbacks (16-11) battled in doubles play, but the Bulldogs (19-3) claimed the point. Mississippi State opened with a 6-1 win at the top spot over No. 28 Ben Weintraub and Eric Padgham, before clinching the doubles point with a 7-5 victory on court three over Dmitry Kopilevich and Brendan Boland.
In singles, Ben Weintraub opened scoring for the Hogs with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 win over No. 63 Ma Martinez Serrano, followed by Gabriel Elicha Navas earning a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Raphael Vaksmann. The Bulldogs answered with four straight wins: No. 16 Be Sanchez Martinez over No. 18 Jakub Vrba 7-5, 6-4, Niccolo Baroni in three sets over Lukas Palovic, Br Hernandez Cortes over Dmitry Kopilevich, and Ro Ferrer Guimaraes over Arsène Pougault.
