No. 7/9 Arkansas Opens SEC Play by Hosting Georgia at Bogle Park Before Traveling to Missouri State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 7/9 Arkansas Softball team carries its 17-game winning streak into SEC play this weekend by hosting No. 12/15 Georgia (March 6-8) before traveling to Missouri State for a midweek matchup on Monday (March 9).

The Hogs and Bulldogs will open the SEC slate on Friday at 6 p.m. before returning to action at 5 p.m. on Saturday and wrapping up the series at 1 p.m. on Sunday. All three games will be streamed on SEC Network+. Josh Haley and JB Brazeal will be on the call on Friday, while Haley and Sydney Parr Lee will call Saturday’s action before Brazeal and Parr Lee conclude the series behind the mic on Sunday.

Following the three-game set with Georgia, Arkansas hits the road for Springfield, Mo., to take on Missouri State on Monday at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Hogs are 19-1 this season with 14 wins coming by run-rule. Arkansas is coming off a 6-0 showing during the Razorback Invitational last weekend, earning two victories over both Omaha and Charlotte while defeating Kansas and Boise State. The Hogs’ 14 run-rule victories are tied for the second-most nationally with Oklahoma, trailing only Texas Tech (15)

Arkansas entered the fifth week of the 2026 season as a consensus top 10 team nationally, having garnered rankings of No. 9, No. 7, No. 6 and No. 5 in the ESPN/USA Softball, NFCA/GoRout D1 Coaches, D1 Softball and Softball America Top 25 Polls.

The Arkansas Razorbacks, one of the nation’s most successful programs in recent years, have been ranked in the Top 25 of the NFCA Coaches poll for a program-best 93 consecutive weeks dating back to the start of the 2020 season.  Arkansas is one of five programs nationally to have appeared in the Top 25 of every NFCA Coaches Poll since the start of the 2020 season, joining Oklahoma, Florida, UCLA, and Florida State.

DAVISON IS DESTROYING THE SOFTBALL

Senior INF Karlie Davison is batting .489 this season with six doubles, a triple, five homers and a team 23 RBI and 15 runs scored while posting a 1.000 slugging percentage to go along with a .565 on-base percentage. She has already matched her home run total from last season in just 20 games.

Davison’s 1.556 OPS is the second-highest nationally by a second baseman this season, trailing only Jaeya Butler of Oregon State, who holds a 1.636 OPS (min. 50 PA).

WOOO STREAK SOOIE

Following a 4-2 loss to Virginia on Feb. 7, Arkansas has won 17 straight, which is tied for the fifth-longest winning streak nationally. The Razorbacks’ 17-game winning streak is the second-longest in program history, trailing only a 19-game winning streak in 2022.

Senior LHP Robyn Herron is 8-0 this season with a 1.31 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 37.1 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .125 batting average.

The Tampa, Fla., product ranked among the nation’s leaders in strikeouts per seven inn. (2nd, 13.3), wins (10th, 8), WHIP (6th, 0.64) and shutouts (25th, 2) entering this week. Herron threw her third career no-hitter and struck out 12 in a 6-0 win over Northwestern on Feb. 20. She retired her final 14 batters in the contest. Her three no-hitters are tied for the most in a career in Arkansas program history.

She was named SEC Pitcher of the Week and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 16-17. Herron and Nija Canady of Texas Tech are the only returning pitchers to rank in the top 30 nationally in fewest hits per seven innings in each of the past three seasons.

NOBODY DOES DEFENSE BETTER

Arkansas currently leads the country in fielding percentage with a .991 mark and previously posted a program record 11-game errorless streak this season from Feb. 13-27.

The Razorbacks led the nation with a .984 fielding percentage during the 2025 season, making just 24 errors in 1,471 total chances. Arkansas was the first SEC team to lead the nation in fielding percentage since 2019, when Florida accomplished the feat. The Hogs’ .984 fielding percentage ranked tied for 6th in NCAA history.

DAKOTA’S HISTORIC DAY

Arkansas bolstered its roster with the signing of two-time NFCA All-American LF Dakota Kennedy this past summer. Kennedy is batting .302 with 19 hits, five doubles and a team-leading seven home runs to go along with 17 RBI, 23 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Against Kansas, she became just the third player in program history to hit 3+ home runs in program history by going 3-3 with three home runs and five RBI. She joined Danielle Gibson (4, 2/23/19) and Rylin Hedgecock (4/22/23) as the only Hogs to accomplish the feat. Kennedy bashed a solo shot before adding two-run blasts in both the second and fourth innings.

OFF TO A HISTORIC START

Through 20 games this season, Arkansas has set program records in numerous offensive categories, including batting average. (.408), runs scored (204), hits (209), doubles (46), total bases (355) and on-base percentage (.499).

BRINLI AMONG THE NATION’S BEST

Freshman C/INF Brinli Bain is batting a team-high .532 with 25 hits, 9 doubles, 14 walks, 18 runs scored and 17 RBI while reaching base safely in all 20 games. Her .639 on-base percentage leads the SEC and ranks third nationally.

She is the first Arkansas freshman to reach safely in each of the first 20 games in program history. Her 20-game reached base streak ranked third nationally entering the week, trailing only Ainsley Wardell of UCSB (22) and Megan Grant of UCLA (21)

Bain is just the third Hog in program history to open the season with a 20+ game reached-base streak alongside Devon Wallace (31, 2013) and Nicole Schroeder (22, 2017).

JOHNNY IN COMPANY OF THE GREATS

Reagan Johnson ranks second all-time in Arkansas career batting average at .374 while ranking fifth in career on-base percentage (.434), seventh in career triples (7) and third in career stolen bases (60). She is just 14 hits away from breaking the Arkansas all-time hits record currently held by Hannah McEwen (261).

She has posted a .421 batting average this season with 24 hits, three doubles and eight RBI while drawing 14 walks and stealing 10 bases.

Defensively, Johnson is among the best center fielders the game has seen during her four years on The Hill with a .978 career fielding percentage. She is on a 96-game errorless streak dating back to April 6, 2024.

Johnson’s 248 career hits ranked tied for fourth nationally among all D1 active players entering this weekend, trailing only Mihyia Davis (293) of Texas Tech, D’Auna Jennings (254) and Aminah Vega of Duke (249) of Duke, while being tied Haley Ahr (248) of Marist.

EIGHT IS GREAT

Arkansas is 295-9 when scoring eight or more runs all-time, including a 165-1 mark during the Courtney Deifel era (2016-present).

The Razorbacks are on a 107-game winning streak when scoring 8+ runs. The last loss the Razorbacks had when accomplishing the feat was a 12-11 loss to Oklahoma State on Feb. 11, 2021, during the season opener at the Best on the Bayou Classic in Monroe, La.

KNOW THE FOES

Georgia owns an overall record of 18-5 this season and is currently ranked 12th in the USA Softball/ESPN Poll and 15th in the NFCA Coaches Poll. Randi Roelling leads the Bulldogs with 50.1 innings pitched and an ERA of 3.20, to go along with a 12-9 record and a save. She has registered 56 strikeouts while facing 207 batters. Sarah Gordon is leading the team with a .541 batting average and a slugging percentage of 1.098 while hitting seven home runs, 11 doubles and driving in 23 runs. Coastal Carolina transfer Keirstin Roose is one of the nation’s top power hitters with a .403 average, seven doubles, a triple, nine home runs and 23 RBI. Tony Baldwin is in his fifth season as head coach of the Bulldogs with an overall record of 181-80.

Missouri State owns an 11-8 record this season. Riley Baber is leading the team with a batting average of .458 and a slugging percentage of .833 while recording 22 hits, nine doubles, three homers, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored and eight walks. Mya January follows Baber with a .303 batting average, 10 hits, three doubles, a triple, a homer and eight RBI. Emily Koranda has been solid in the circle for Missouri State. She owns a 5-3 record in addition to a pair of saves and 1.58 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 57.2 innings of work. Kasey Griffith is in her second season as head coach of the Bears with a record of 31-41.

30 SEASONS OF RAZORBACK SOFTBALL

2026 marks the 30th season of Arkansas Softball. The Razorbacks hold an all-time program record of 901-814-1 (.523) with four head coaches in the entirety of its history.

Arkansas played its first official game in program history on Feb. 20, 1997, which was a 4-3 loss to Cal State Northridge during the San Diego State Classic. The Razorbacks rebounded later that same day with a 5-4 triumph over Hawaii to earn the first win in program history. Designated Player Lisa Flores provided the winning runs in the victory with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
