No. 70 Hogs Lose on the Road to No. 11 Longhorns

AUSTIN, Texas – The Arkansas women’s tennis team (3-7, 0-3) lost to No. 11 Texas (8-4, 2-1) on Sunday afternoon at Texas Tennis Center, 4-0.

Texas jumped out in front after taking the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Salma Drugdova and Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz struck first with a 6-1 victory over No. 78 Anet Koskel and Grace O’Donnell at the No. 2 position, while Carmen Herea and Eszter Meri won on court three with a 6-1 showing against Jimena Gomez and Katarina Pavlechova, clinching the doubles point.

The Longhorns maintained their lead in singles play as No. 54 Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo claimed the first court with a victory at the No. 5 position, defeating O’Donnell in straight sets. Koskel dropped her match 6-4, 6-2 on court four, while No. 25 Herea bested Pavlechova with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 4 position to secure the decisive point for Texas.

The Razorbacks return home for four SEC contests in the coming weeks as the Hogs face No. 19 Vanderbilt, Missouri, No. 7 Tennessee and No. 56 Kentucky.
