No. 9 Women’s Golf Set For Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – No. 9 Arkansas Women’s Golf is back at it starting tomorrow morning, as Head Coach Shauna Taylor’s Razorbacks are set to tee it up at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate for their second event of the spring. The event will be played at the Long Cove Club, which is a par-71 course. The tournament will also be televised, as Golf Channel will carry it during the afternoon window (2:30-5:30 p.m. ET). This will be the third time this season the Hogs will play in a televised event, as both the Blessings Collegiate Invitational and the Jackson T. Stephens Cup were both aired on Golf Channel.

Julia Gregg leads the Hogs into the Darius Rucker, and she earned the number one spot at the Moon. Gregg finished tied for 23rd at the event, which led all counting Razorbacks. Gregg’s consistent style was on display, as she scored rounds of 72, 74 and 73 in the Hogs’ first event of the spring. Gregg’s only other appearance at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate came in 2020, when she took 37th at the event (76-74-75—225).

Following behind Gregg is Cory Lopez, who held the first spot in the traveling lineup in Melbourne last time out. Lopez finished just a stroke behind Gregg, carding a 220 (74-74-72) at the Moon. Her score was good enough for a share of 26th place.

Kajal Mistry remains in the third slot for the spring’s second event. She finished third among the scoring lineup after being slotted in the third spot, carding a 221 (77-72-72). Mistry also played in the 2020 Darius Rucker, finishing tied for 68th.

Sophomore Miriam Ayora will tee it up from the fourth spot in Taylor’s lineup, which is where she finished amongst the Hogs that played in Melbourne. Ayora continues to show potential, though – her 71 in round three was the only round played under par by a Hog at the Moon.

Ela Anacona is set to make her spring debut on Monday, and she will play from the fifth spot at the Darius Rucker. Anacona was great the last time she played at the event, finishing tied for 23rd in 2020 (73-75-74—222), which led all Razorbacks. Anacona last played at the Ally, where she finished tied for 56th.
